Ok, so now I've given this even more time today. Not clocked the easiest mode yet, but have now had a number of runs and made it deep into final area.
It gets a thread. Because It has that touch of something special that I haven't really seen since, yes, Slay the Spire.
Now, don't get me wrong, I doubt I'll put 1500 hours into this, but it's certainly scratching an itch quality wise.
For STS vets: Energy is called Momentum, and the cards and "relics" you get work in very STS ways.
The combo counter is genius. Every attack adds to combo, moving costs combo. Some cards don't cost momentum, but do require a certain combo level.
Actually, at risk of nsme dropping two big names, i guess the movement stuff reminds me of into the breach.
Anyhoo, in EA for now, but add it to steam wishlists!I'm still great and you still love it. -

I'd say it took me a good few hours before it clicked. There's defo some issues around what's on screen and info until you're used to everything.

God, it's so great.
Still a long way to go as far as being full title goes. There's a few qol things that will undoubtedly get sorted, and despite there being 5 deck types, they need some balancing, mayber.
But man, so clever. Odd paving and size though. For a Rogue type, it's a little odd for the 5 levels to be so long. Same amount of "floors" per level as sts, but in combo with longer fight length it means any decent run is gonna be 3-4 hrs.
I don't mind it at all, but it is odd, compared to others in the genre.I'm still great and you still love it. -

Tempted. May wait for the v1 release as loads to play at the moment and need to 20 all the characters in STS, got a few levels left for watcher and one for defect. -
Yeah, it's not super ea, so there's all the levels and stuff, and it's quite feature rich, but you can also see that waiting for v1 would be worth it.I'm still great and you still love it.

I'm quite tired and read the thread title as tights in fight spaces. That's a totally different game. -
Top tier posting chaps.
Still enamoured, but man, you need to set aside time. You can save, but yeah, each run is long.
Need more time on the other decks, but so far aggressive seems tier 1, with maybe counter puncher joining it. Knives, balanced and trickster seem underpowered.
(bleeding mechanic feels very much like silent and poison from sts. If you're just dropping low poison on someone every few turns, meh, but if if can combo it, it wrecks.)
Basically, for now, counters and just hammering for damage seem to be options 1a and b. But definitely can see how other options could work. I may just have not sussed best tactics or had right cards drop yet.
The way all of the regular card based things work is great, but it's the moving enemies to attack each other or finding ways to throw them off map that is what elevates it.
Each fight area has a few spots where you if you get your angles right you can kick or push folks off ledges etc. It's brilliant. It works on bosses too. So even if they're full health etc, if you get lucky/do things right, you can rip levels really quickly.
Also super clever are levels with either a briefcase to be collected in x moves or an ally to protect or not kill. They give you various other bonuses.

Watched Some guy hammer through a grapple/enemy movement run yesterday. Nice tight deck. Lots of quick fights, including a 1 turn boss fight. Such a cool puzzle trying to sort out enemy placement.
I've been leaning into counters. Similar placement issues sometimes, but the focus is on making sure everyone attacks you, and in the right order. Had had trouble gaining enough block for late game previously, but current run I can now block nearly anything.
Think I'll fight through to the end on this one.

Have beaten game twice now. Both not quite pure counter builds.
First was a real mixed bag of mechanics, second was basically counter, a couple of cards for the push/kick out of map mechanic and then upgraded demon form equiv.
Basically, I just had to survive early turns and by 4th or 5th my damage was so nuts no one lasted.
Pretty big update yesterday.
A fair chunk of cosmetic improvement, some new cards and with the cosmetic came some better on screen info for what's happening.
There's not quite the ac20 heart run styles that would lead to ridic replay. But, pending what they do with dailies or dlc, there's plenty to be doing.

Ok, Have now beaten it on all the stock difficulties.
The dailies can be good, but there's definitely variations I just nope right out of.
Still think there's something in the regular settings I've missed to trigger another boss.
Will need to see if they find another way to extend the regular settings.
Otherwise, it's a AAA experience, but you will reach a point where you feel you've done it way sooner than STS.
To be clear: I've pumped 200hrs into this, and 1800 into STS. So it's not like I feel short changed. Not everything can be generational.
This defo has highs on a par with sts though, when your synergies lock in and the ragdoll physics kick in on the enemies, it's chefs kiss.I'm still great and you still love it. -

Haven't made it to the last mission to see changes there, but there's a number of nice touches in general play.
