There's no space between "Indie." and "The". This would be an irresponsible example to set for their impressionable young readers at the best of times, but No Man's Sky is very much about space so I can only assume that they are doing this deliberately, flaunting their recklessness.
That reads like the PS4 version is just to test what they can run on those specs before working out how they can get the PC version to produce their full vision for the game.
"Let me tell you, when yung Rouj had his Senna and Mansell Scalextric, Frank was the goddamn Professor X of F1."
Erm.. the game will be being made on PCs. There's no 'porting' as such, it would just build in its native environment and i'd imagine chuck in the usual scalable graphics settings, consoles have to be locked down, to a target fps (30fps+) settings wise
If PS4 is the lead platform though, they're going to be making the game's control scheme with a erm... controller in mind? I guess this isn't going to be one of those space-faring PC games where you need a keyboard overlay just to remember the docking sequence.
I think my point is that when it does come to PC, it'll feel like a console game, as it would've been built from the ground-up with a controller pad in mind. Unless they fundamentally redesign the UI to make it all keyboard and mouse orientated like.
I just get the impression, from what I've seen so far, that this is going to be one of those fun 'point your nose cone at the stars and see where we end up' type of games. Which will have PC purists crying 'port!' when they realise that they don't have to master a keystroke sequence to execute a starboard pitch roll.
On second thoughts, I think lack of new screenies / tangible new info is just making me type bollocks
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map
Wingmen. You earn them by helping a race/faction out, and they cone to help you out in return.
Wish I didn't know that now, it's going to get to the stage where there is nothing I don't know about this and actually playing the game for myself will be a little worse for it.
