Once I knew top four was out of the question I just wanted to avoid the extra commitment of 5th tbh. Will push on with fresh legs next season in the hope that I catch the trawler.
I only joined a few games in so I'm happy with my position. If I had played from the start I'm sure I would've beaten acemuzzy. But beating TheDJR will do.
Well, I'm very pleased with my thirty-one points and I think that people should stop making fun of me and TheDJR just because we don't know anything about football.
Well done everyone. Apart from Paul who clearly cheated. There should be a full enquiry into this, I suspect match fixing at the highest level.
It is omelettes and eggs. No eggs, no omelettes! It depends on the quality of the eggs. In the supermarket you have class one, two or class three eggs and some are more expensive than others and some give you better omelettes. So when the class one eggs are in Waitrose and you cannot go there, you have a problem.
This is how Paul cheated his way to the top. It's obvious really.
I blame JonB, I was doing much better under krs. I don't like to throw accusations about but I'm pretty sure he's fiddled my points and still holds a grudge from the World Cup.
Congrats on a great season guys, especially to Mr. The Sparky.
I'm really, really happy this thread got all the way to the end. There is, obviously, a tendency for these things to peter out and I knew that when I set it up. However, due to the hard efforts of all the guys and gals who participated (especially krs and JonB) we managed to get there.
Even though I, basically, missed the second half of the season due to study and work commitments (mid-terms finished last Friday, yo - all 90 plus, say what!) I have continually looked into this thread and seen it in excellent hands.
Also, at the beginning of the season I promised prizes. I'll be gifting prizes to Paul the Sparky, The Daddy, Gamermike, JonB and krs. I'll send out PMs soon to you all to get the ball rolling on how and where to send prizes.
Finally, given that I wasn't able to see this through to the end this time, I doubt I'll be able to do it again next season (especially if I successfully get a scholarship) but I would love to see it back and participate as an entrant more often. So, if any forumite wants to do it, please do, I don't consider this to be my thing - this thread belongs to everyone that has contributed week-in-week-out.
In light of krs and Paul foregoing their prize I will be making a donation to a local charity (which JonB has also agreed to). I've only just contacted Gamermike, but whatever he decides he wants there will still be a B&B Charity Guess pot.
I'm gonna be careful with what charities I donate here to, as many of them are not open about how their money is used and there have been some cases of misappropriation. However, both the Cherished Dream Foundation and the Half the Sky Foundation seem pretty well managed and are great causes. I'll try to throw some more information in later (got school now).
