Apparently Sean Hughes left one of his houses to a homeless charity in his will. He may have been a grumpy old bastard and pretty terrible with women at times, but there was definitely a heart of gold in there somewhere.
Good on him, makes me think maybe I shuold set up a will, there's a couple of charities I'd really want to benefit if I have anything left in my pocket when I bob off

A shame, always found him very watchable, great food. Two Greedy Italians a top watch.

Carluccio was one of those great characters that TV (more often than not, the BBC) finds from the most unlikliest of places. Was always a pleasure to watch and listen to.

I have eaten his food once. And it was good. He cooked for a launch thing I was at. Did a little speech, while cooking, and had a couple of staff behind the scenes rustling up more of the same dish. Simple Italian stuff cooked well. Beef ravioli, if I remember right.
I have a few pals in the food industry down south and it’s interesting to see that they all have positive stories to tell about the man. In an industry that can be quite dog-eat-dog, that’s unusual.
