Went to a snooker club in Catford last night for the first time ages and I was still on the system, including the fresh faced mugshot of Mr-just-done-my-A-levels pubman. Last visit was October 2001 apparently. I plan to go fairly regularly, badgers welcome if anyone fancies a few frames. They've got American pool tables too. I'm a bit shit but I don't mind losing.
A well managed snooker club is an under-rated experience.
In the late 80s, Belfast had one called Frames. 50 tables, bar with private rooms available. It was at its peak for a few years and then went downhill, shrunk down and the bar got bigger and became a hive of scum and villainy. Great while it lasted though.
