Yeah, I got this on a whim because I've no internet in my new gaff and needed something to play while I wait. I should have just gone with my first decision which was DS2 SotFS. Something about the way the camera moves makes me feel ill while playing. The music is shit, as is the voice acting and over all story. Decent enough combat, but again - why bother when I can play a superior game like Dark Souls.
Perhaps not, but from the 7 odd hours I played I never once felt 'that feeling' you have when playing Souls. I know, I know. It's not Dark Souls. But when you're making a game that is pretty much a carbon copy of From Software's game you can't blame people for comparing the two.
Playing this now. Actually started a new run through of DS2:SotFS, but felt like giving this a try.
I'm up to the third boss. I'm quite liking it, kinda, but I also find it super frustrating. Not because of any differences to Souls- if I want Souls, I'll play Souls - but because of how mechanically sloppy some parts are, criticals and hit registering specifically.
I'll keep going, I think, but I don't know how long this will hold my attention before I just decide it's not worth the hassle.
Yeah, I actually don't mind the speed - the slowness and physicality works for me. It just has some mechanical issues which driven me crazy. Still, I'll keep going for a bit and see how it goes.
