I might be alone here, but i really can't wait to play this game. Skyrim left me a bit bored after 20 or so hours, even though i fully appreciated whatba technical achievement it was, the combat felt too disconnected.
I love the feel of this game, kinda Soulsesque in places, and a real monster hunter vibe (but easier to grasp).
The demo was ok, but i think it did the game a bit of a disservice. So i found some videos which i think show off the game a little better.
OXM preview:
So, anyone else excited? It seems to be getting a real negative reaction from most, but scores are pretty good coming in off reviews so far which may help it post release (mainly 7s and 8s).
I'm on this from day one. I agree with the poor combat mechanics in Skyrim making it hard to keep playing, I was expecting multiple playthroughs with different characters but I can't motivate myself for that.Â
The demo for this wasn't the best, but it did show that the combat was good with plenty of variation, especially the second fight as the archer.
I'm gonna have another check on GamesTracker to see if there are any more on there, only one site was listed a couple of weeks ago.
Just played the demo, very good. Can't wait for the full game.  Loved how you could grab onto the lion thingy and keep spanking it as it was running around the hall.
Demo didn't make much of a first impression, but the second time I immediately grasped the controls and found myself up in the air clinging to the burning wings of a gryphon.
And thought - well, there's certainly potential here.
Then I started to fiddle around with the character creator and found it quite fantastic, not to say fantastic fun. Then I saw some intriguing youtube videos - like the ones above - and now, frankly, can't wait.
Dragon's Dogma seems to succeed in providing that feeling of being on a long and treacherous adventure. That's a feeling I crave.
Wouldn't touch the demo with a barge pole. Â Preorder for this has been down for ages, but whether I play this come release day is debatable. Â I haven't even started The Witcher 2 yet!
My desire for the game has certainly built since the reviews came in. Though as far as RPGs go i've still got Amalur to start properly and Diablo 3 out next week which will probably miserably dominate my free time.
Been chatting to a few reviewers who have been playing this for a few days. All five of them have been heaping praise on it, which fills me with hope. Really looking forward to this.
