Have played Fifa for years laaaaaved it but since 2014 the world of fut got brought to my attention heres my team so far this season
I have fell out of love with the online gameplay tho it changes week to week with updates they fix one bit and fuck up the next I’m trying to get back to it but struggling
Never been a fan of modern versions of FIFA, but bought PES 2021 on PC over the Easter weekend for a laugh.
In the late 90's through the early 00's, the difference between Pro Evo and FIFA were obvious. It was easy to show both games to footy loving laymen, and have them make an immediate judgement call.
Since around 2010 though, EA put the work in, and between the licenses, and general feel of the game, they almost bankrupted Konami.
I heard that Konami had rehashed the engine since v2020, so closed my eyes, and bought a copy.
At first glance, as has been the case for roughly a decade, it's still very hard to tell the latest versions of FIFA and PES apart at a glance.
But I'll be fucked if PES doesn't brick on FIFA now.
There's something about the ball movement and player physicality... It's really subtle, and makes the game fun in a way I just never fully got out of the new versions of FIFA. Watching players make runs and wave their arms to call for a pass, and shielding the ball... Little things like that.
The same animations exist in FIFA, so it looks the same, but they communicate completely different things.
PES doesn't have the licenses, but for the PC at least, those option file hacks look fairly easy to apply.
I know it might be seen as trolling to post it, but outside of playing it, I think this vid does a good job of showing what makes the new PES "fun":
"I didn't get it. BUUUUUUUUUUUT, you fucking do your thing." - Roujin Ninty Code: SW-7904-0771-0996
The vid's just there for illustration purposes, though some of the goals are nice.
I would encourage anyone to just try the game above all else. I'd not bothered with a football game for a long time, because previous iterations of Pro Evo seemed a bit lazy.
The new one though, is a lot of fun, and it's very hard to describe exactly why.
Player physicality, ball physics, game speed, and spacing, are the only words I can muster right now.
"I didn't get it. BUUUUUUUUUUUT, you fucking do your thing." - Roujin Ninty Code: SW-7904-0771-0996
I've played them all. PES is just not good enough, imo. Fifa, whilst having major major balancing issues this year especially when it comes to ranked online, is still the best.
Its all personal preference now though. PES have came back to the table, but a few years ago it was just god awful.
now that FIFA21 is on gamepass, is there a BnB pro club team or interest in one? I can't see myself playing much of the main game, but pro clubs could be a fun way to fall out with a bunch of ball greedy badger bastards!
I downloaded FIFA - fair to say its been a long while since I had a Footie game to play on. Seems decent enough. Props to the normal camera view - really looks good, almost photo-realistic at a glance. Once its zoomed in, its not so impressive although fair play on the Steve Bruce model.
The online 11v11 mode. If there's less than 11, one player can pick "any" which let's them switch between the remaining players and have AI goalie. If no one picks any, you end up with AI defenders. I would avoid that entirely, imo.
I've created a club called Bear and badger.
It's open to friends but i was only able to invite chaz and gav so far...i guess sparky and others haven't connected to fifa 21 yet?
Still you should be able to join it yourself or add me as xbox friend if you want in
If you make a pro you have stats that go up and up with each match, if you don't and you pick a position you'll load in as a generic base stat player and get absolutely rinsed. Not advisable, tbh.
Protip, if you load into a match and the opponent is full of 6ft8 orange dudes with white afros, quit the match. Sign of a sweatlord that, and someone who's played that mode since the game got released. Mind you, should be plenty fellow EA Play noobs about.
Nah you just earn skill points via xp in games, which then boosts traits and overall stats. Quite how the xp is earned exactly during games isn't laid out in great detail. I think its passes completed, positioning and successful tackles like the Be A Pro mode.
