I just think the instigator of those sort of situations should get equal punishment. What Paredes did was no less aggressive/violent/dangerous than the reaction. Either you just tell them both to stop fucking around or you stamp all that out and send them both off.LivDiv wrote:I think, think it was done that way to aid refs. Nice and simple, forward movement equals headbutt. Now we have VAR it could probably be relaxed although head injuries long and short term are a hot topic so I doubt it would go down well. As it stands the Fredbutt should have been a red.JonB wrote:I never understood that kind of head butt rule anyway. A player can come up and put his head right in your face, and if you move your head forward it's a red card. I thought Fred moved his head to the side in this case, so maybe he got off on a technicality.

And yeah, according to current rules it should've been a Fred red, but I find a lot of the rules pretty terrible these days. They encourage the shittest behaviour. It's all about fishing for the slightest contact then making the most of it, and the rules reward that.
Aye, that's a hard read alright.afgavinstan wrote:https://www.theguardian.com/news/2020/dec/03/rangers-football-forgotten-tragedy-ibrox-stadium-disaster-glasgow?CMP=share_btn_tw Important and emotional read, that.
