Would be sweet, as another switch in the house is not on till Xmas time, & then only if the previously mentioned 9 year old requests one from Santa or a limited edition gets my juices flowing.
I think it's friend matches only so hopefully that can be controlled.
I just like the idea that there's a 1 v 1 situation (more so than a normal camping game) where you have to expose yourself a long time to win the game but getting splatted is a huge disadvantage (because of the free paint time).
Looks like my order has updated to "arrives July 21 - 25", which is slightly more hopeful than just the 25th. Choose a Walmart to pickup that has games in stock anyway (not all have), so having my fingers crossed that one will be my order.
I can't believe how bad this app is , if your phone goes into sleep mode or you do something on whilst in the lobby the app closes and you have to restart it

Bought it this morning - a friend wanted a Japanese copy to play with that playerbase in Splatfests and didn't mind me jumping in.
So the Japanese one does NOT auto translate to English.
If the queues in Shimokitazawa were anything to go by, Japanese sales for this are going to be silly this week
My copy of this arrived last night (ShopTo). However, so did my extended family so I didn't get more than about 15 minutes to play it in, frustratingly.
What I got to play was great however. I started a bit of the single player as I wanted to practice a bit before going into the multiplayer arena. It's more of the same, but the same is great.
Also, so far Nintendo don't seem to be as good at monitoring the messages popping up in Miiverse as they were in the previous iteration. (Perhaps because it wasn't officially "out" yet, I don't know.) The first person I walked up to just had a massive speech bubble saying PISS above their head...
Enjoyed my first proper dig last night, found it quite addictive tbf. Winning as much as I'm losing online, tend to be the one sneaking round the back in the last 30s, forgetting about splats and more on the turf.
Single-player is tops so far. Really fun. Started on motion controls and gave up after the first, but I can see how it helps online. Just gotta learn it and hold it down.
Now off into work with it to rinse the various amiibo lol.
