Fuck you turning it into an annual franchise Ubisoft.

The original takes its cues from action films of its time, and it's cohesive as a result. You start in a city centre and fight to the beach via slums, then cross a bridge and take a bobbing boat to a factory, and from there to a skyscraper's penthouse via its elevator. Its visual aren't as impressive in terms of hardware usage, but I prefer them, and it has the better soundtrack.

JonB wrote:The soundtrack is better in 1. Everything else isn't. The addition of a baseball stadium and amusement park to the locations is just adding a bit of variety, otherwise it's completely inconsequential.

Nah, Golden Axe is great (unless you're a loser who doesn't use Gilius). Road Rash is also better than its sequel. Preferring the original was a very common Mega Drive theme for me.
