Sticking a brand or design on physical goods that serve an actual purpose vs flogging virtual items that cost basically nothing to produce (the art might have, but you aren’t buying the artwork, you’re buying the NFT that claims ownership of the artwork) and exist only as a highly questionable investment opportunity. These are not the same.
  • I'm pretty uncomfortable with all of it.
It's hard to be critical of someone if their face is on your t shirt.

Politicians, even good ones, shouldnt be hero worshipped or idolised.
  • I don't really see it any different I'll be honest. Trump isn't selling this as investments as a currency - they are very much a digital card. Its one of the things that sort of makes sense with an nft (he could have just sold trump bucks and I reckon he would have still made a fortune)

It's not something I'd get behind but I also don't get how a copy of nes Mario bros 2 can get 22000 dollars because it has English and Chinese text on the back label. Such is the world of collecting. Trump fanatics buy into the cult of Don just like some brits have their houses devoted to the monarchy and the union jack. Each to their own. I reckon a lot of people who bought a trump card because it supported Donald which is really not that different to the t shirt.

I fully agree with this, but America is a very different type of world. Bernie has some socialist beliefs but he is still far from a full on socialist.

I've seen a rumour that people have found stock image watermarks on some of the cards, so maybe not.
  • Dunno where this guy came from in my YT feed but he's quite good.

  • Aye, Coffeezilla’s channel is a regular watch for me. Lot of good stuff there.
Come with g if you want to live...
  • Yeah I wish I'd known about him earlier. Genuinely learning about crypto scams and rug pulling stuff that I had sort of heard about but didn't really know. Depressing and entertaining in equal measure.

Same old scams really but a new and massively bigger audience to con. This influencer thing can fuck right off. Feel simultaneously very old yet wise that I'd never fall for this dumb shit.

  • But mainly old.

Enjoyed that, but the gotcha video is gold.

  • I'm a bit late on this but Legal Eagle is always worth a watch. TL:DW he is absolutely fucked.

Prepare for the Gemini/Genesis drama to blow up around 8th Jan.

Crypto is a glorious fucked space right now.
  • Another one

Also good to know that Coffeezilla is legit. I'm always paranoid of subbing to a new channel before I find out they're some rw chode or something. Can never be too sure.

This just popped up on my YT feed, Logan Paul coming out swinging at Coffezilla, no clue if he’s seriously going to sue.

    Things can only get better.

  • Just watching Coffeezilla's Logan Paul vid.

The bit at the end when those who have been scammed are asked what they would say to Paul and the guy says he has another NFT that gets him an audience with Paul.

    Oh sweet summer child.
  • Lol Paul's response.

I'm gonna go down the middle here and say Paul was probably not a master mind and got used by shady folk. His fault is being a greedy, do anything for a dollar cunt which blinded him.
  • Can we find that twitter DM exchange again of the nft guy asking an artist for the "sexy vibes"? That was amazing.
  • What is in store for Crypto this year then? A bounce back? Stagnation? Death?

It feels like it might ebb away into a much smaller space, maybe how it was a few years ago. Just speculating though.
  • It's simple really. Successful (long -term) products are those which solve a problem, are useful, desirable / high quality; a mix of those attributes.

Crypto currencies hit desirable for a while, but not for any rational reason. they don't solve any actual problems, they don't improve on existing products that they would need to replace (they're not even that great at, for example, illicit funding of criminal activity; and nothing that you can't already achieve with current financial solutions).

there has never been, at least in my experience, any clear affirmation of what purpose crypto currencies serve (vague ideas about corrupt banks, dodgy governments and low cost transactions and the like are not real money problems for most people), what problems they solve, why people should want them and therefore why they should have any value.

As such - death, inevitably, unless governments start using the excel spreadsheet / blockchain technology for their actual, valuable currencies. I do not know why they would do this, but you can't rule out dipshit politicians
  • As investments it will be death, world's biggest Ponzi scheme can't last forever.
My reckon is that Covid was hugely instrumental in the scale of Crypto investment. Other investments were way more risky than before and people were sat at home a lot absorbing all kinds of bollocks. Covid or at least lockdowns are over now. Economic normality has largely returned. Even recessions and cost of living are vanilla issues.

No doubt they will continue to exist small scale for those dodgy transactions.

  • The uh value of cryptobux has always been providing a facsimile of an unregulated commodities market to spunk real money into and fuck around with, and there will always be a kernel of perverts into that. Gambling for gambling's sake.

Article there about some Bozo getting hacked and losing his NFTs.
The Twitter replies are full of people saying similar happened to them, then replies to those people from bots offering recovery services, which is either an industry in itself or yet another scam.

Also people wishing for regulation lol.
