So, watched that there new documentary on The Beastie Boys this evening...
It's very good.
Goes deep on the prime 78-98 period, then Hello Nasty gets released...and Yauch dies...the end. Now if you weren't a fan, you'd be excused for not realising there are actually fourteen years missing between these two events, but hey, that's not really the story we came to hear, so it's understandable if somewhat revisionist. Still. Well worth watching for fans.
Cheers for the ololo shout, and yes the Norman Cook and daughter was cracking. I remember seeing her cringe a couple of times and thinking "Yup, even FatBoySlim isn't viewed as a cool dad, it truly is impossible"
"I spent years thinking Yorke was legit Downs-ish disabled and could only achieve lucidity through song" - Mr B
Yeah. Bowie is a baddun. I've been kind of unequivocal on different artists but I'm fucking hypocritical as shit when it comes to Bowie. Like genuinely. And I can't recomcile that in myself
The bad stuff crosses my mind every time I put a Jerry Lee Lewis country record on, but the alternative is to stop listening and I'm not going to do that.
