Is it the interview you posted here @Tempy? I loved that, have often quoted things from it to B, when he didn't understand why I like watching Jorbs and how Slay the Spire works.
He's been streaming this again more often lately, and I'm hooked watching again. Should probably play it too, Switch regular version still have that sweat 0 cost well laid plans. Was shocked it costs energy now in the beta!
Wow, i didn't realize how good orange pellets can be. Not only does it work well with biased cognition (which is just a focus +5 if you can play it in the same turn as an attack and skill), but it also works well with the strength +5 till the end of the turn, as it is now just a strength +5 potion.
Got me to ascension 6 with the Defect. Ironclad and Silent still at 3, but I haven't played in ages age this was the first game in a while. Only because Destiny needed an update or something.
New character is closer to done than not, now. R at least it feels that way. Cards largely have art done anyway.
Get the feeling they're messing with what stuff does a bit more still.
They've cleaned up a lot of the art for potions too. Made it all a bit prettier.
Still wondering about a couple of mechanics in there.
Feels like they could ditch one just for clarity's sake.
As well as different stances, new build has a number of skills that do damage in different ways, or with certain provisos. There's a new one in particular that looks potentially awesome. One of those quirky mechanics that makes you want to stack it and just go all in, however, it could end up being one too many angles for a single hand.
I started again on Bone now I've got Xbox pass thing. Seems so easy on the early asc levels and it's nice to not be hitting your head against a brick wall.
I’m sticking with Ironclad for the foreseeable. I have it in me to do well, I reckon. Once I get reeeeeally stuck (like can’t even get past first boss) then I’ll move on to Silent.
Pressure points card, which is a skill and gives a status effect called marks is totally awesome.
Doesn't care about block, and stacks. So play pressure points to mark an enemy for 8. (does 8 damage immediately.) next time pressure points comes up, adds another 8 marks, does 16 damage immediately. Etc. I had 3 of them, 2 upgraded (11 marks)
1 cost cards doing 25+ damage. Especially great in boss fights.
Finally managed to get to the third boss on ascension 1, with Ironclad. I don't know why I'm finding it so much more difficult to progress than before, although I do feel like I'm getting better at this again - I'm having to really think ahead now and strategise a bit more.
Having said that, even though it is harder, this game is in my list of top games of all time. It is so moreish.
It doesn't feel different moment to moment, but every instance that isn't necessarily getting you something good or takes hp or uses up consumables makes progress harder.
