Might not feel like it when you're playing, but that double jump looks a lot like Journey does when you get good at it.

This is the bit I assumed he was talking about.  Of course it's a doffing of the cap (imho); the devs probably really liked Journey.  There's a Toejam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron reference in there too if you really want it, but it's far less likely to be intentional that the big ol' Journey one.

How can you not remember it? It's like the core gameplay mechanic. The thing you get more of with the scarf pieces. It acts like flapping wings.

I have Journey on disc for PS3 if you still have the concole. Can lend it to you. You owe it to yourself to play one of the best games of all time.

Reckon I'm about quarter of the way through. It's really good, but nothing's blown me away yet. Might be the length of time I've been playing these "experiences" that's meaning it doesn't affect me as much as others, maybe it gets better later on.

I missed two opportunities to beta test Sky. Probably for the best so I can go in blind when it releases. Although it will probably mean updating iPad and losing ability to play the Cave shmups.

Oh, good god, that was bargaining; I was hoping it was acceptance. I can't be arsed with another level of this tonight.

It's undeniably beautiful but, so far, has been exactly what I was expecting. Assuming I've not forgotten something, and I limit myself to games I've actually played, it'll probably scrape in at five on my goty list.

Really should have held off and played this with my holiday weed, I'd have appreciated it more.

Oh, and some of these colour choices are questionable. I actually had to get up and move closer to the TV in order to make my character out and even then it was still difficult.

It's very competent, the artwork is exceptional, in places, and there are some nice gameplay ideas, but it's missing that certain something to elevate it.

I’ve paid £45-50 for games that lasted 9-10 hours, so £14 or so for a 3 hour game doesn’t bother me.

Out of interest, why does no fail state affect the score?

I recommend Dark Souls. I’m sure you’ll give it a 10.
