Wow, some lovely details in there, all about the little things, very nice, I couldn't maintain it though. I have that stupid brain thing where if it's not perfect it's ratshit, and I treat it accordingly

See the magazine rack beside the sofa in this shot?
I really liked that, but she wanted £395 for it.
I found the exact same piece this afternoon at the Glasgow Antiques Centre (big warehouse with loads of traders) for £120. Admittedly, it needed a good polish, but c’mon. That’s a ridiculous mark-up.

I went for a dark paint color for my bedroom, like a dark, warm grey, with dark wood flooring.
Then ran picture rail at the same height as the tops of the door frames and painted white above that.
It works nicely to get that dark and cozy feeling without it feeling like a dark cave.
I would take a photo but that would mean putting my washing away.
But I want one larger than 20cm as that seems small for a ceiling light... Any tips for places to look? Online or chain stores I guess unless any of you know places in Bristol!
I'm falling apart to songs about hips and hearts...
Spent ages thinking where I had seen a larger scale version of that, just remembered it was on a site for stock 3D models, so sorry can't help unless you need it for Second Life or something.
Im sure Ikea used to do something like that in black but it isnt on their site anymore.
An alternative, although would need some electric jimmery pokery could be to have three of that size in a cluster hung at three different heights.
Like I say, no idea how the electrics would work. Bad habit of doing 3d visuals for a living is what's possible generally comes second in my mind.
If you want something properly tacky, Ikea has these massive metallic looking spheres, that split open into irregular pieces when you pull down on a string, revealing a bulb inside. I can't imagine what sort of room they'd be suitable for.
Those Death Star lamps have been in Ikea for quite some time now. At least a couple of years - so if anyone wants one it might be an idea to go for it soon in case the line ends.
