Firstly, props to Livdiv for running the original thread for months. 75 pages over 26 rounds, it was an absolute hit.

Secondly, how do people want this to go? Which format works: everyone chucking artists suggestions and then majority rules for who gets selected? An order to which badgers get to pick a topic?

I'll tally it up and change the discussion title but other than that I don't suppose I'll do much gatekeeping, I just want it to carry on really, on account of the OG thread being great.

Thoughts?

Can we do best one-hit wonders?

Rules would be it hat to be a chart hit and that the band or singer involved did not have another hit nearly as succesful.

I'd keep the broadest of definitions. As long as its not a big hit for someone in the UK who was huge in the states or something.

It's odd the things some people class as a OHW that I just wouldn't. Like some lists have Hanson, who whilst definately have a biggest hit, the next two songs were number 4 and 5, and a comeback song hit number 10.

Then we have lists putting Marc Cohen on there, who reached a high of 22 with Walking in Memphis. So 22 is a hit, but 3 top 5's, and a later top 10, we discount?

I have no formula for the answer, but in this case...yeah?

Tiffany is one song to me (*cough* and that's a cover), but apparently her follow up single was no.1 in the states and no.4 over here, plus she had two further UK top tens. Yet even in the face of this freshly gleaned officialcharts.com info my brain is still saying One Hit Wonder.

I would say you need to have one song hit top 20, and no other songs ever get into top 20.
