Send messageI need to get a semi-decent computer so I can play all of the GW property-based games. Mordheim, Battlefleet Gothic, Blood Bowl 2, and Warhammer Total War. First game of Star Wars Rebellion under my belt.
If was VERY long. First game syndrome plus countless interruptions didn't help with the flow.
But i enjoyed it and there were several extremely thematic events riffing off here and there, not least of all me destroying the death star with an xwing to push the rebel market onto the time marker and win the game!
Criticisms of the combat are valid, it's a little clunky and odd but the best bits of the rest of the game make up for it.Live= sgt pantyfire PSN= pantyfire -
Games speed up considerably, we got it down to 2 1/2 hours after game one.
Don't mind the combat. It's fast which is what was needed. Love the game, amazing theme. -
My first didn't get finished, took over 3.5 hrs and still didn't finish. Thing is the setup takes a while, especially the first time. I mainly learnt the game watching youtube vids and referencing the rules as we went along, so the second was quicker and flowed easier
2nd game under my belt tonight and I lost to The Empire, the bastards. His first attack on my Base and he took me out first go.
Second game was a lot quicker, with the just a little rules referencing going on. The only trouble is that some of the cards are quite vague, for example a Lando card called Contingency plan ( wasn't clear enough and explanation)
As the rebel it's overwhelming because The Empire have so much more units.

my missus played the imperials. She got bogged down building and turning subjugated systems into loyal ones. It wasn't until halfway through the game that she actually moved a unit.
If she'd gone at exploring out of the blocks i would have been in big trouble i think.

It's not really about the battles, which is why they're simple I guess. It's about deception, second guessing and screwing over. I actually prefer playing rebels even though it's squeaky bum time constantly.

I've got it but not tried it, there's loads of mods on there - it looks brilliant . Most games are there, I've played SW Rebellion and Letters from Whitechapel, which are on there.

Just tried Tabletop Simulator with Letters from Whitechapel On my own to see how it plays, I can't believe how good it is.

Grabbed Tabletop Sim. Seems pretty cool, albeit a bit fiddly. I look forward to getting into the 8th hour of Mage Knight and accidentally flinging the pieces all over the table.
