Current flavour of the month for me is Shadow War: Armageddon. (Or as I like to call it Kill Team II: I Can't Believe it's not Necromunda.)

You running GSC still?
The gloss can be a bit icky if you put on a thick coat, I usually do 2 thin coats of either type and they seem fine.Tempy wrote:Hmm, might give it a shot after I move and i've touched up all the inevitable marks that brings.

For little kids: Shadows in the Woods - Age 5 and up but for reasons that will become obvious, needs an adult. In many ways, this isn't a technically very great game, but it's absolutely beloved in our household, and still gets wheeled out every Christmas despite our kids being significantly older. The kids basically form a team in which they help their dwarves hide within a little cardboard forest. The adult then controls a candle which they move around the paths in the forest itself. On their turn dwarves can move freely in shadows, and their aim is to bunch together under one tree. But they can't cross any patches of light. The candle can therefore freeze them in patches of light, with the aim of catching them all. So, like I say, technically not that amazing. But the effect of the game is that your children get to sit in the dark scheming about how to defeat their parent, with only the one flickering candle. The game's kind of crap, but the effect is none the less magical.
Mousie Mousie - A really old game and one that's deeply unsophisticated, stocking filler stuff, but that is generally really liked by small children. It's basically a reflex game. You all have little mice, you roll a dice, and depending on the outcome you have to pull them away before someone slams the cup on top of them. That's it. Kids love it.
Loonacy - Glorified Snap for up to 5 players. I hate it, absolutely everyone else seems to think it's amazing.
