Yeah that was a bit extreme, there's many things like that. Not with their main bread and butter though. You can only put games on MS, Sony and Nintendo consoles through them. MS can publish what they want to google and apple stores but it will be borked, oh yes, it will be borked.Yossarian wrote:All of those companies have done exactly this with film and music streaming services.

Yes they have but then they don’t invest in making their own films and movies do they? For a pure publisher then your argument is fine. EA want their game on everything. Microsoft only make games as a means to tiring you to their service. It’s a big leap of logic there.
Tbh though I could see this being a big thing for Tvs. Xbox enabled TVs. PlayStation enabled etc etc but the thing is we’re gonna end up back on exclusivity as selling points. Plus Xbox isn’t rocking up on a Sony tv. Or the ones with android as their op system.
The reality is gonna be a future like the pc space at the moment and the issue of epic looking for exclusive titles for their service. Most games will appear across all platforms with the exclusives being the reason for subscription.
Much like we do now with our choice of consoles we’ll look at which service offers the range of games that most suits us. It’ll be no different. We’ll still be arguing about who has the best pad, or who uses shit compression techniques and I’ll still be happy to play Mario whilst you’ll still be happy to be Sea of Theiving.

I suppose they could offer a purchase scheme through this for games that are leaving the service.
In which case, I fully expect that a chunk of the purchase price would go to the holder of the platform that the purchase is made on.
You misunderstand.. I’m streaming crackdown 3 on my switch and Marvelling at the cloud...what am I going to buy my copy of crackdown 3 for? The bone I don’t own?

You could buy it so it’s always available in the Xbox app on your Switch.

(Can I also exclude betas/trials? I'm meaning a full proper service. But maybe you'll view that as me backing down, which I guess it is a little bit lol)

I’m good with that. You’ve got a bet.
