Yeah, just to clarify, it's Kotaku UK, specifically.I_R wrote:I don't really understand having a UK specific version of a gaming website to be honest.
Im sad that people will be out of work and I'm glad peeps like JonB got a start from it but the UK only site was completely pointless to me.JonB wrote:hylian_elf wrote:Just read on Twitter via JonB’s tweet that Kotaku will be no more soon.Yeah, just to clarify, it's Kotaku UK, specifically. It was always a bit of an awkward mix, publishing stuff from the US site then UK specific stuff that didn't necessarily feel like it was on the same wave length. It also had proper serious journalism mingled in with the most inconsequential takes and zany news pieces. But, I certainly appreciated it because it was willing to publish new writers and new ideas much more than other sites. I wrote my first games piece for them and a few others that I think were pretty interesting. Rich Stanton was sometimes far too difficult to get hold of, but did a great job as editor. Hopefully he and the others have good roles to go to.I_R wrote:I don't really understand having a UK specific version of a gaming website to be honest.
