Sounds like a plan. Lets see where we're at after next easing.
Also, reading Dark Emu, and reading bits of Dark Emu exposed to see how silly they are with their culture wars BS. It's very good, and really actually not all that OTT with how it frames it's claims. If Pascoe is clear and happy with sources, he'll make relatively strong claims, but if it's something with less backing, that needs more research, he just suggests....it needs more research.
Mega lols at the exposed fuckers though, one section I read and then cross referenced with them, had them accusing him of taking quotes out of context or paraphrasing inaccurately. Of course, they do this by paraphrasing him inaccurately and ignoring other passages that explicitly say what they accuse him of omitting. Asshats.
Of the limited stuff I've read or listened to Pascoe about, none of his claims are outlandish. Most of it relates to agriculture practices, astronomy, and the UNESCO listed fish or eel traps in Victoria.
Even if some of those claims were found to be somewhat over stated, they would still be 99% closer to the truth than anything written before 2021.

Yep. Even if he wasn't "convicted" (civil trial from memory), long and well documented outright racism for a long time. He's been particularly bad around Indigenous stuff, but during covid, his multicultralism is to blame angle has been particularly overt and disgusting.
It's all incestuous with those nazi fucks though. Murdoch opinionistas, IPA, Quadrant, Dark Emu Exposed, Keith Windshuttle, all part of the conservative/white supremacist ecosystem.
So I'm not an Aussie bit did live there for a number of years and the rest of my family is still there. I hope I can join in these discussions.
I've just completed an essay with a heavy focus on the Dark Emu. I have no doubt that western european attitudes have led to the underrepresentation of the achievements of indigenous populations around the world and particularly in Australia. This perception still affects government policy, especially if the ruling party are nazis.
I would also like to publicly thank my dad for bequeathing me fandom of the blues, this is a gift which constantly teaches me about the meaning of futility.
So I've gone back to school to study archaeology. It is a distance learning course through the university of leicester. That particular essay was part of a post-medieval module. This is the question:
Discuss some of the ways in which historical archaeologists have contributed to our understanding of groups who might be underrepresented in the historical record. In answering this question, pick any two of: indigenous groups, slaves/forced labour, and the urban poor.
I used indigenous Australians and the urban poor of Liverpool (UK) as my two case studies. There is a section in Dark Emu that discusses megalith structures in Australia and how the colonising group thought they must have been of extra terrestrial origin because the existing inhabitants must have been incapable of constructing them.
I have used several Australian examples in a few modules such as the Lake Mungo remains, Fish traps etc.
lol. I know. It's the optics mainly, IMo, most out door stuff now would be very low risk, but it's pretty glaring what they want to police and what they don't.
