100% Factually Accurate Quizzes
‹ Previous1234567
  • Some folk at work asked me to do a quiz, for an up-coming fundraising quiz night.  Their last one seemed really well balanced, to me, but others complained it was too easy.  I've found it really hard to find the right level, and I've probably ended up with a horrible mix of too hard and too easy.  Anyhoo, I know how much some of you like a quiz, so I might as well post it here.  No prizes, just for fun.  I'll post the answers later.

Fuck.  As I type this I'm told it's been cancelled.  So, please just enjoy it (or tell me you did) or most of my day has been wasted.

  • 12. Is it a parrot?

If it is a parrot, it's a stupid question. If it isn't a parrot, it's a stupid question.

I love quizzes. Am now about to test this one on the wife.
  • Noice one Andy.
Come with g if you want to live...
  • Film. StarWars - Do you mean of release or of storyline?
Rocky beat Apollo Creed once, right?
  • Me and wife both consider this a Good Quiz.

It's a good one yup. Though unless I'm missing some grammatical/spelling rule it's Dwarfs not Dwarves.
  • My wench will enjoy this tomorrow, good effort.

Star Wars: storyline.  Rocky:  Is that your final answer?

I appear to have fortuitously used a rare but not incorrect spelling.  Phew!

Rocky is zero, and if that's not the case I'm going to be mighty pissed off.
  • First fight Apollo won. Ain't gonna be no rematch. Then there was a rematch, and Rocky won. Yo Adrian, I did it.

Then Rocky won the race on the beach. Does that count?
  • I'm pretty sure I know most, or possibly all of the film questions, but it's a poor show from me elsewhere.

Also, 'William Andrew Philip Bodie'?  Where did you get that nugget from?  I'm sure I've seen all the episodes of that particular (cracking) show, quite recently too, and I don't remember hearing his full name.
  • Never mind that, we need to get to the bottom of this Rocky thing.
  • I think you're right.  He lost in I and won in II.  I hear he kicked Apollo's arse after the freeze frame in III too.

    Are you sure about that?

The first was definitely a draw, hence "no rematch".

I'm hazy on any other encounters, but I thought one of the recurring points was that they never knew who was the best.

OK, so Creed won the first on points, I'm not going to even bother checking the other ones.
  • First was a split decision victory for the Count of Monte Fisto.
  • Apollo won the first. Split decision. You can hear it in the background.
  • Always tough to judge the difficulty with stuff like this

The science and nature questions seem particularly easy. It's not a topic i'd ever consider myself knowledgeable on, but I was able to answer all but one without thinking.

Geography was also rather easy. Just one unknown. But then it's probably the only subject i'd have considered myself 'good' at.

History and politics surprisingly hard. Although perhaps I'm just surprisingly shit at it.

    Sport seemed well balanced.

Haven't a clue about all the others.

Edit- Perhaps the film one is a bit easy too. I haven't watched a film in years, and rarely did before that. But I was still able to get half right i reckon
  • Come with g if you want to live...
  • Science & Nature and Geography being easier is good for my target audience.  The History & Politics might be too tough, but hey ho.  Those are the rounds where quizzes are won and lost.
  • What's the official adkm Rocky answer though?
  • For sure. Wasn't intending to sound critical. Good spread of questions amongst the topics.

Last quiz I took part in had a sport element comprised almost entirely of football.
  • Nice work, adkm.  Not sure about no 6 in the music section though... are you looking for the French title?  Unless I'm being particularly dense it is best known by exactly the same title as in the question.  Unless you're thinking of the dance that appears at one point in the operetta?

    Is it...
    Spoiler:
Come with g if you want to live...
  • Indeed.  However, the question is wrong in that case, sorry Andy.

EDIT: Sorry g, added that last bit to previous post just as you were posting.

Smart phones ruined the pub quiz. It's a crying shame.

    Nice one though adkm.
  • I got about half in all categories and could have a guess at a few more in each.

Perfect mix for a quiz really.

Make sure you check that "which company owns big brother" question before going in. There is a lot of shifting and buying out going on in tv at the mo.
  • Colgate or Daz or something?
