Hopefully I'll avoid another facepalm with my mother-in-law this year. A couple of years back I opened a gift from my dad (who wasn't present at the time), which turned out to be a tatty Mickey Thomas autobiography. I ungratefully moaned to my mother-in-law about him picking up random Manchester United biographies from charity shops, whilst unwrapping her gift, which was, of course, a tatty Paddy Crerand autobiography, with '50p' still pencilled on the inside cover.
