Ok this is a huge guilty pleasure, but has anyone mentioned Transformers the Movie yet? Easily one of my favourite soundtracks ever. I'm probably influenced by childhood somewhat, but still, that Vince DiCola sure knows his way around a synth:
I used to listen to this whilst testing Outrun 2 back in the day, was awesome. Wasn't as good for World Snooker Championship.
Other than that, Pulp Fiction soundtrack is right up my street.
Anyone mentioned David Holmes yet? Out of Sight in particular. Although not for a movie Bow Down to the Exit Sign was called a soundtrack for a movie not yet written, or some such like. Top stuff all the same.
That was awkward and unsettling, never post anything like it again.
good call. on the subject of Davids, I have Mr. Arnold's soundtrack to Independence Day in my CD collection, and on the subject of music that should be a movie soundtrack, Hybrid's album Wide Angle would be my top choice...
Albums that shoud be soundtracks could be a whole thread in itself. Sigur Ros, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky to start us off perhaps.
