No, they don't.Moto70 wrote:Sorry to hear Gav, probably no solace but I agree with the others that it at least sounds tranquil and painless. I'm not sure if non-pet owners have even the slightest inkling of how horrible the feeling is that accompanies the loss of a pet?
Stories like that bring a tear to my eye much more easily than most human-based tales (thank god I'm on my own in the office today). Back in the day I couldn't watch Animal Hospital 'cause I was a blubbering wreck if any didn't pull through...afgavinstan wrote:Yeah, it's pretty terrible for me. She was *my* wee baby cos I brought her over from Ireland after a trip with a mate to see his gran n that. Whilst him and his mum went up top on the Stenaline, I stayed in the car holding with her in a small box for an iron. She was scared shitless. In the months after bringing her home, she only ever really trusted me, and that stayed right through until today. She never really had any time for any other human but me, or maybe my dad. I feel just horrible that I wasn't there, but I probably would've made it even worse for myself and my mum, who was already hysterical on the phone yesterday. Holding myself together whilst on a packed train as I was told was a fucking challenge. But yeah, she went peacefully and happily and that's all I can ask for. Cannot wait to live in my own place where I can keep pets. Missing my other cat and my dog far too much here..
