I think they wussed out, half the cast should be dead by now, instead they thinned out the B+ players and tried to make out like that was monumental

It wasn't a bad episode, but I just don't think it entirely worked, too many bait & switches, and dodgy hope spots.

I think it's one of those episodes, that once the sheer spectacle has subsided, will leave you scratching your head trying to figure out what they were thinking.

After being crushingly disappointed by the opening half of the episode, I eventually really got into it and loved it once I could see what the fuck was actually happening.

The whole opening of the battle was ridiculously dark, to the extent that I was unable to see anything for large portions. I don’t know if that was their intention but it was piss poor either way.

It improved significantly though and was a damn fine spectacle by the end.

After such a brilliant second episode I guess this could only beat have equalled it but it didn’t. And it wasn’t down to plot or pacing. It was simply down to god awful cinematography. A combination of incredibly poor lighting with nothing to contrast against it and super fast jump cuts and close up action worse than the worstestist of Transformer movies.

I can only surmise that at some point the world will see it in glorious 4K at 48fps and be like wow. As it stands on the shit streaming service that Sky provides (I tried both Sky Go and Now TV) it was a pixelated, 16-bit fucking travesty.

Liked the Arya bits. That was it.
