I think popular opinion is an excellent filter of the information available to us, but there's always more than one view. Most of the time, those other arguments/ideas are unpopular for very good reasons...
Occasionally though, that's not true. In this case, I disagree with this particular conspiracy theory, but the fact that an intelligent, scientifically minded person has some doubt about the event, for me, ignites my curiosity no small amount.
For a start, my first question is 'How many more people believe the same thing?'. And I suppose another question is 'Why haven't we gone back?'... Which I bet is a common question amongst conspiracy theorists.
But then, the second of those two questions is extremely interesting to all of us, regardless of belief...
So I suppose thinking about this on any level is retarded, right?
