Even though I promised myself I wouldn't, I started again. I couldn't resist now that i know to leave room for upgrades and things like paths. I'll stick with this one though, it's going much better and I'm leaving plenty of space in case i need to change things.
Connection to my city (after thinking for way too long about motorways that i use irl)
Paths are a revelation. I was watching a ton of traffic going from my residential areas to a big retail/leisure park i made so i had a bash at some paths and walkways. As soon as i finished them people began to use them and traffic eased in the area. I'll definitely experiment with them more.
I only popped on to play an hour. That was 3 hours ago.
Ah i meant the actual build area, i assume it increases as you grow.
Do you have industry in one place or dotted about? I have mine away on the other side of the main road away from residential, but built a bypass from the residential to divert traffic away from my main city access. Workers and goods vehicles delivering to stores are using it just fine, but I'm wondering whether to build some houses a bit closer.
You can build houses nearer but people will start to get sick after some time. Better to keep it a bit away and have good transport. Metro and bus should be enough. Don't forget to check the resources panel to see if it's worth specialising the industry in that area.
City has grown quite a bit tonight, and I'm ready to start having a play about with buses and how to do routes.
The traffic situation is fine for now though so no immediate rush, although my factories are sometimes saying 'not enough workers' so I'm wondering if a bus route would help with that?
I've no idea if I'm doing half the stuff correctly, but I'm having fun finding out. My citizens seem happy enough.
They've done a cracking job with the controls/UI on Bone.
I'm pretty sure i will but I'll have fun doing so.
I realised last night that you buy additional areas to build, not earn them. It really does just leave you to it for the most part, but i like that. Need to have a scout for some natural resources and maybe branch out rather than stick with the starting area. Good plan?
