failed at land 2 by literally metres.
I had the boat built and just needed it pushed a tiny bit further past the portal and we were done. Anghhh so frustrating.
nnnng I've had this on my toucharcade iOS watch list since release on ipad, but it's still a little pricey for my taste so I'm waiting for it to drop or do a flash sale.
Yes. Just noticed it made my walls shiny so I assume stronger.
Just had a great run on land 2, everything was great, boat built, stacks of coin. But my boat got stuck (stopped moving that is) and it all turned to crap.
I've tried sending the Knights to fight but they always get beaten. That was one run where I didn't bother with farming at all and it worked out fine - lots of rabbits to hunt. With farming, do the farms really need to be built inside the walls? I've tried them outside walls but they keep getting killed when the monsters turn up.
Basically, all the extra cool stuff needs dudes to operate, and you need to recruit more than you think. So, when you create catapults, they use up builders, so they'll fix things close, but won't go and chop trees etc. When you build an Archer tower, that Archer is stuck up the Tower. The key with knights is to build up their Archer buddies. (again, the archers who go with the knight don't really hunt. So you need to back fill them.)
If you send out the knight first thing in the morning with archers, especially if they have power boost, you will be able to destroy portals.
Re farms.
Spoiler:
Just build the 3 coin farms mostly. Then the farmers go inside the walls for the night. If you destroy a portal or manage to set up within a wall then build. The bonus is only really that they start farming earlier because they don't travel.
Nice one, funnily enough, that's where I just failed. I've been further, but went from scratch, was killing it, then explored too far with a horse out of breath and lost crown like a dumbass.
Have worked out a meta thing.
Spoiler:
Game is literally a loop. The 10 coins you get at the start are the ten coins you put into the boat when you took off from previous area. So even the first one is technically someone else's crashed boat.
As far as going for later levels, if you have early ones down pat you can set up and leave an area with a knight and archers and builders AND cash. Means you can set up next area basically immediately.
Have done first section in 13 days, second in 17, but could have been 16, and was on way to ripping third section.
So Archer towers can turn into massive crossbows, but it appears you need to be on a level with Archer statues and wall statues. The only thing that stops the big vomiting fuckers quickly.
Just got rinsed because I accidentally zapped a camp that was close. Stayed with it, but man I got overrun in the end.
After all my umming and ahhing over whether to get this, I was looking through my humble monthly whilst explaining what I had recently and it turns out I already own this one, just didn't redeem it.
If you go and watch them at a portal, they lose a coin every time they get hit. So if you load one up with coin, it'll mean a much better chance you can destroy a portal, because they defend the archers who destroy the portal.
Also, have solved the mystery of the little dude in the house. Major spoilers, but also necessary info for final stage.
Spoiler:
So, there's actually 3 different dudes. They all cost 4 coin to unlock, then 1 coin to put on your ride.
They are what unlocks the last upgrade to Archer towers.
The elf dude turns it into a crossbow. Only sure fire solution for the big fuckers.
The alien looking dude turns it into an oven, it then costs coin to bake bread, which the peasants then smell and they come running. It's basically a dude magnet.
The wizard looking guy gives you an extra knight/shield. Works as expected.
You can only have 2 of them hanging around at once, so it's worth building their upgrade before bringing the others to camp.
Also, re power up statue.
Spoiler:
There's a knight power up statue that makes them do haduken style attacks. Pretty cool.
