I'm on top of hill that circle is narrowing to. Bunkered up. 3 left. Guy crouches up to my fort. I hear and drop behind him. 2 left. Try and get back in my fort but as I do so storm comes. It's ok though, I've deliberately built so a corner is in the circle. Fall into storm. Build a door to get back inside but stairs block me. Build another one. Get in. Start climbing up stairs still in storm. Die.
I then get into another top 2 situation but the other guy is on the hill with rockets and it keeps narrowing to give him the advantage. Manage to get him to use up all his rockets but he catches me in open when I'm making a wrong for the bottom of cliff to stay in circle. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do.
Fortunately I won a game later with 11 kills which made up for it.
I feel like when it gets to the point where it feels like there is nothing that you can do you need to think several decisions back to figure out where you went wrong. That's how I figured out that I was building forts too much or too early.
Back-to-back duo wins and a couple of squad wins last night, felt good.
My building still isn't up to scratch and I'll often find myself getting completely muddled and pressing the wrong buttons under pressure. But I'm better at killing people than I used to be so that's nice.
The new rifles are much better. Haven't bothered with the SMGs despite the buff, might give them a go at some point if I find a blue/ purple. Silenced SMG is all well and good but you still make a tremendous noise when running so it only avoids attracting attention from a ways away.
Was the rifle accuracy update yesterday? Will need to test this out as before the update it had got to the point where I would take a grey burst rifle over a blue assault rifle. I imagine they'll need to tweak the headshot bonus too at some point if they're too accurate.
I saw that smoke grenades are coming next week too which should be fun to use. Crazy how they're adding at least one new feature every week.
Yeah the accuracy is much better now, making going for high-end loot at the beginning all the more important. Scar's will wreck you at crazy distances.
The silenced SMG is fun and has a surprisingly decent range, but obviously suits a sneaky playstyle better. Only goes up to blue though. SMG's in general are in a great spot with the buff, blue and purple tactical SMG's absolutely deserve a spot in your inventory.
Getting multiple wins with every session now which is nice, but even without a win the gameplay is just so addictive and often hilarious that my desire for PUBG on the PS4 has all but disappeared.
The constant stream of new items and balance patches is brilliant. l particularly like the quirky stuff they've added, from wearable bushes to the new launch pads, and love that the devs are fully on-board with emergent gameplay such as the rocket riding. Their communication and integration with the community is good as well, almost to Overwatch levels I'd say.
Nexx and I jump padding on to last guy to win the game and as I go to deploy my parachute my game crashes... moment of glory stolen from me. Fortunately Nexx managed without me!
Looks like they're nerfing assault rifles a bit following the patch. Damage reduced a little on all of them and headshot bonus decreased from 2.5x to 2.0x.
I don't think the change to bloom is great. They need to bring in some form of controllable recoil mechanic. At the moment the assault rifles are too easy. Before they were too random. The damage reduction helps though.
I agree, the assault rifle aiming is just way too easy now. Its made the average TTK so short compared to how it was before that if someone spots you even slightly out of position you're fucked. Seems to be working in my favour though as I won 4 out of the 5 duo games I played last night.
Squads of 4 are still the max, afaik. Your teammates are all marked by green arrows on your map and friendly fire is disabled to make things less clusterfucky. Looks like so much fun!
