I can collect it in pounds too. I think you need to select pounds on both sides of the transaction window where it lets you put in the amount you want to send.
In my account it then has an Australian dollars balance and a UK pound balance so if it's done correctly I can then just send it onto T without any conversion fees.
Most people got it right last time, I think it's just an easy thing to miss as it defaults to AUS on that screen. I just covered the conversion cost myself last time for those that didn't which wasn't much anyway.
