Plenty of games available on the previous gen download services are practically forgotten already, so here's a thread for championing obscure favourites and reminiscing about the best games.

It wasn't that good, but I can't think of anything else at the mo.
Discontinued in October - but there's a new one in the works if the website is to believed - so look out for it on One or PS4.
It's snake - so what? So it's brilliant - that's what. A large, super tough 1 player challenge mode with a clutch of score attack modes bolted on. It also has 4 player local battle mode.
Initially looks basic but the presentation is in actual fact very slick.
I'd like to do hidden gems, but all the XBLA greats I can think of are some of the most well known. It was an excellent line up though. After maybe 3 or 4 disc based games they really were the highlights on the console.
Not meant as a backhanded compliment either. Mark of the Ninja, Braid, Peggle, Trials, Bastion, Spelunky would be top tier classics on any machine.
Absolutely, given a choice between the best of digital/indie or the best of retail last gen it'd be the former by a mile. Add Super Meat Boy, Hotline Miami and Fez too.
Pacman CE was one of the reasons I got a last gen console. That and its Dx followup are amongst the finest classic game updates I've ever had the pleasure to play. Up there with Tempest 2000 and Outrun C2C. No hidden gem though.
Not a download game per say, but Deadly Premonition was fantastic on last gen. Yeh the shooting mechanism wasn't the best. However the main protagonist was awesome and the twin peaks themed town was fun to explore. One of those games I never completed but also couldn't part with.
