Fuck knows. I do know that the bar/restaurant in our building owns its own farm in Northumberland and has a meat locker somewhere in the building where it hangs its own meat. I do believe it charges more than £5.99 for that, however.
Actually, the genuine best thing about our canteen is the fact that they publish the menu on our intranet each week and allow comments. The controversies that rage across that comment section are amazing. When the deep fat fryers broke and the canteen had to serve grilled fish instead of battered on Fridays the wailing and gnashing of teeth was glorious.
Brilliant. Quite jealous of you guys with good work canteens. Ours has lofty ambitions that they consistently fail to meet. The menu has delicious sounding options but are always disappointing. Even their fish batter game is weak.
Ours is decent enough and cheap enough to make it seem like a reasonable alternative to making and bringing in food. Of course, when I’m feeling a bit more spends or bored, three days a week I have the option of this:
