Fair enough. As I understand it, those are all songs Eminem was the main writer of, even if the top billing was for Dre or Grey – they’re his songs.
I think Love The Way You Lie is right up there as well, but that’s definitely a guest appearance on Rihanna’s song. And it was written by Skylar Grey …
(By the way, more people should check out Skylar Grey. She’s awesome.)
Some great stuff on this album. Would be fascinated to know how much he can do live, there's one bit on Lucky You where he's in full flow for about a minute with no apparent breath.
I dunno guys. I became an Eminem fan after seeing him do a small gig with zero big production nonsense, just as Mosh came out. He flew in to London to do Top of the Pops and asked his management to put him on for a gig somewhere in the evening. I blagged a guesty place and got to see it. Stripped down to just him and a DJ, he was straight up one of the best rappers I’ve ever seen. A technical tour de force with charisma to spare.
I quite like some of Eminem's stuff from that bit where he dropped Relapse and Recovery that no one likes, Beautiful, Talkin to Myself, Space Bound, all of them weepy shits.
Also come at me Headlights is a better track than Mockingbird or When I'm Gone.
Haven't listened to the new album yet, its on the to do list for this weekend though. Also like Face, I could do with some more Caterpillar.
"Let me tell you, when yung Rouj had his Senna and Mansell Scalextric, Frank was the goddamn Professor X of F1."
Eminem is one of the very best, if not the best in terms of lyrical prowess and skill. My issue over the last couple of albums is the beats aren't great, certainly no where near the highs of older Dre production, and it makes relistens less frequent
I'm falling apart to songs about hips and hearts...
New Interpol is a banger of an album, the first time i’ve been able to say that in a decade or so. It’s got really nice production that makes the drums sound great, the fills on The Rover are properly vicious.
Just been offered two tickets to the Fannies doing the 91-93 night at the Barrowlands. Thoroughly excited. If I was being brutal, I'd prefer the 94-97 night, but the prospect of Bandwagonesque is hard to refuse. Absolutely buzzing. Given this year has produced all time gigs in the form of LCD and MSP and I've still got Malkmus to come, 2018 is shaping up to be quite a year.
Rolling Stone have dug up an interview with Beto O’Rourke about his days in a band and have even got hold of a track that they’ve put up on their website:
