FP1 and FP2 can be difficult to read as they are dependent on so many variables. Compounds of tyres, high or low fuel runs. Engine modes, testing of new parts etc.
One a sidenote, Ferrari got told to stop putting a bag over the main air duct on the car when it was in the garage or on the grid (they are doing this to stop other teams seeing the steering wheel configuration setup via the mounted camera which has a view of the cockpit).
So ferrari built a 'cooling device' for the main air duct instead that by coincidence happens to block the mounted camera's view of the cockpit and steering wheel.
Twas a great lap. Just wondering though, is max's not potentially even more impressive? 3 tenths down with a problematic Renault engine? Be interesting to know what the engine diff is worth round there..i know it's a less power sensitive circuit but more power is still better than less.
