2018 was sort of a bust for me music-wise. I heard some decent stuff but a lot of it not until the end of year lists were released.
So to combat that, I have decided to maintain two Spotify Playlists, based on the two auto-curated lists that Spotify provide (and update):
1) Release Radar.
2) Discover Weekly.
The aim is to add one track a week to each list with two rules:
1) It can't include a band/artist I have heard before.
2) With DW, it doesn't necessarily need to have been released this year (there is a lot of great 'old' music I have yet to hear).
By the end of the year, I should have two lists with just over 100 tracks. I know that everyone doesn't have Spotify, but thought that it might be something that others might like to do. If so, reserve a post below, create some playlists and start listing your choices.
I've got a free Spotify sub, so I assume I can still do this. Just to clarify, you're only listening to Spotify personalised selections, but narrowing them down to one per week from each category?
I probably won't do it, as 90% of my listening is still stuff I've ripped from cd, bits it's a good idea. The 'Spotify for you' curated playlists I've listened to on occasion are very good, I've found a few new artists that way.
