I've listened to a lot of stuff, but this truly was absolutely standout, also not on Spotify so haven't shared it as widely as I could've through my playlists
The new 'Godspeed you' is just fucking great. The guitar sound is like Electric Wizard 2000-2003. Nice to hear that doom sound creep slightly toward the mainstream. Skipped first track on that playlist, can't stomach that kind of 80s all out cheese fest. Track by Olympics Swimmers past me by, forgettable, not terrible. But then GODSPEED FUCK YEAH.
Skerret's posting is ok to trip balls to and read just to experience the ambience but don't expect any content. "I'm jealous of sucking major dick!"~ Kernowgaz
Aesop Rock - not my thing but its not boring like alot of hip hop. Some interesting things going on in that track. Kimya Dawson singing works well. Drums sound great.
Listened to playlist, skipped a fair few bits though, anything that sounds dramatically 80s can get the fuck out of my ears.
'Godspeed' is easily the best thing on the playlist so far in my book. By a huge margin. Aesop Rock were interesting but not the kind of thing i could listen to much of, may listen to an album of theirs one day though. The tune from Kazhugoo album was ok but the production is too crisp, i've got percussion loops like that out of producer sound packs before, needs a bit more room sound and imperfections or something, needs to sound real. Alt J was ok. Most of the other stuff left me cold, bored or slightly disgusted.
Not feeling Martha. She has an interesting voice, there's elements of Kate Bush and Dolly Parten in there but the music is too safe and consequently boring. The funny synth in the background in that first track is too funny also.
