Random fun fact:
I played Daigo online once in SFV and got my arse handed to me. It was probably a case of mistaken identity (my steam name is sirPunk). He was probably looking for that other Punk and got me instead.
I didn't realise it was Daigo until I saw his youtube vids using the same sfv screenname.

For anyone looking to get all the sfv characters, apparently there is a champion edition upgrade that 2orks out as pretty good value. I haven't checked the EU steam shop but in the states you can pick up a vanilla copy of sfv for about 8 dollars on steam, buy the champ upgrade which is 25 dollars and you will have 38 fighters with Gill and more unlocked once they get released, all the stages and most of the costumes (about 200). Not bad at all.
It has steadily been nerfed since SC II, but the wording in the patch nodes was a bit off, but it seems you can now also get counter hit for stepping forward as well as backwards and sideways. EDIT: The English translation clarifies a bit. No counter hit on forward step, but a brief period that you can't block, so micro-step blocking is nerfed.
Mechanic changed - Vulnerability During a Step ・Taking a step backward or to the side temporarily places you in a vulnerable state during which you cannot guard, but now you will remain vulnerable even if you change direction to take a step forward. ・You will be able to guard again after a fixed amount of time has passed. ・However, changing direction to take a step forward still cannot be run countered.
