I’m thinking of doing ours early this year. We always spend Christmas away with family, so it sometimes feels like we put the tree up and then fuck off instead of enjoying it.
I’ll wait until I start seeing others in our street though. Don’t want to be ‘that guy’.
I’ll possibly put mine up a week tomorrow, which is the earliest permissible date. It’s my first day of two weeks’ leave, so it’ll feel like Christmas before I go back to work in time for actual Christmas.
I’m scratching around in the planting at the front yesterday trying to put up the Christmas lights when I keep hearing a funny noise. I have a look around and curled up mewing and shivering is this little fella.
We brought him in obvs. Cleaned him up. Sorted his runny eye out and now he’s bounding around like he’s all at home. He’s too young to be a misplaced pet and
how he ended up in our front garden I don’t know but afaic he can stay as long as he wants. I’ve started calling him Mr. Whisker.
Clearly, and obviously barring some heartfelt handrawn posters on lampposts looking for their missing kitten, he’s gonna be staying. I’m now feeling like my decision to bring forward my Christmas decs by a week was the correct choice.
