I’ve only just picked this up thanks to resubbing to game pass, but i’m really enjoying it. It has maybe the best player/world interaction in a game since Death Stranding, you really feel like you’re battling the mountains as you figure you way around them. I especially love the exploration at the start where you’re finding routes, it’s a lot more intimate than DS, and less methodical but the element of picking your way through easy/tough routes ahead of you is great.
Congrats to Raam and Moot who took the crowns on challenge 1 and challenge 2 respectively. Poor showing on my part I'm afraid, was just too occupied with other stuff to really put a shift in this weekend.
How did you all find the double-header? Seemed to split focus a bit much I think, maybe keep it to a single trail again in future.
Single gets my vote going forward. The zero fault thing was a horrendous curveball but good fun to mix it up a bit. The leaderboards still baffle me, as far as I can tell you can't even filter the results to 0 faults. Imagine that in Trials, and it's tougher to zero fault a hard track in that than it is to get through a run unscathed in this. They way it is works I guess, but it's bizarre to see 'top' players sitting on 416 faults imo.
The zero fault was deffo interesting to mix things up, but prefer being allowed some crashes. I don't have the patience to redo the full run over and over so I tended to get one in then was done, so spent less time on it. i think there's too many dubious collisions and odd bounces in this game that regularly playing without crashes would become too frustrating.
Deffo happy for them to be thrown in occassionally, but also reckon one challenge at a time is prob the best - think having 2 just split the field a bit so not the same competition, especially going into the last day
