I'm intrigued to see what consoles people have owned throughout the years, chronologically if possible, with the ones you still own bolded.

    Mine goes as follows:

Philips Videopac G7000 (AKA Magnavox Odyssey²)
    Atari 2600
    NES
    GB
    SNES
    Master System
    Mega Drive (seller's remorse)
Edit: Commodore 64 (Dark Soldier's list reminded me)
    N64
    PS *
    Dreamcast
    Mega CD
    Saturn
    Game Gear
    32x
    PS2 *
    Virtual Boy
    GBA
    GameCube
    Jaguar
    3DO
    Atari Lynx
    Xbox
    DS *
    PSP
    Wii *
    360
    PS3 (fully B/C model)
    3DS
    Atari 7800
    Vita
    Wii U

    * = only sold due to successors having backwards compatibility, still have my games for the respective consoles

So what gaming roads have you traversed over the years?

    SNES
    PS1
    N64
    Dreamcast
    PS2
    Xbox 360
    Nintendo Wii
    Xbox One

I had to get rid of most of them due to lots of moving around unfortunately.
  • Oooh on phone so will put a (b) next to still own, some have been repurchased.

    Amiga 500
    Gameboy (b)
    Amiga 500+(b)
    Game Gear
    Mega Drive(b)
32X (for ten minutes until I checked the box and it was incomplete)
Master System Convertor for MD (b)
    N64 (b)
    Playstation (fat, slim)
    NES
SNES (own but it lives with a mate)
    Gameboy Color
    Gameboy Advance
    PS2
    Saturn
    Gamecube(b)
    Gameboy Advance SP
    Xbox
Xbox 360 (white, elite, GoW spec slim)
    PS3 (fat, slim, super slim)
    Wii
    DS Lite
    3DS
    PSP (b)

I wish I had kept them all but normally had to sell one to fund another. I have had 3 360s 2 wiis and 3 PS3s. 3 PS2s and 2 Gamecubes. 2 PSPs and 3 MDs.

Only mainstream console I haven't owned seems to be a Dreamcast. Always wanted one but having an N64 and being 13 around that time left very little money for it.
  • Atari 2600
    Amstrad CPC464

    SNES
    Playstation
    N64
    Playstation
    Playstation 2
    GameCube
    Playstation 2
    Playstation 3
    PSP
    Playstation Vita

In some way shape or form I have also lived in the same house as and as a result have not felt compelled to buy a:
    Saturn
    Dreamcast
    Wii
    WiiU

Also had access to in my past

  • Ah man I always wanted an Amiga 1200. My uncle and Grandpa had them so I got to play them round their houses. What was the Amiga cd thing? My Grandpa had one of them too. He gave me my first Amiga 500.

Still have the GC with no games, pad or memory card, and the 360. I don't keep consoles really.
  • @retroking
that was the one, thought it was the coolest thing in the world at the time.
  • I keep all mine.

Sas doesn't seem to own any consoles.

  • The day I bought my SNES my uncle came round to visit, he tried convincing me to get an Amiga 500 (1200 maybe?) instead and said he could copy me all his games.

Didn't have Mario World though so the choice was easy for me.

Probably a bad decision in many respects but I never regretted it.

Also I regularly swapped the Mega Drive with my cousins SNES for weeks at a time so technically that too. I owned a SNES in later life but an ex kept it when we split and wouldn't give it back.
  • The whole time I had an Amiga 500 I wanted an MD cos thats what my friends had.

    Kids eh?
  • I had a cd drive add-on that allowed cd32 games. It was shit.

Happiest day of my life was spending 200quid getting a 1gb hdd installed and filled will ALL OF THE GAMES! Still bought lots too, but is played it so much it was awesome having all the others.

    Commodore 64? Posh kid!

My dad bought it cheap off a guy at his work, we had a snooker game and a few shooters etc. Was a bit shit and after it died out. Nice keyboard though.
  • Home Consoles:

    NES
    SNES
    N64
    Playstation
    Dreamcast
    PS2-Variations
    Xbox
    GameCube
    Panasonic GameQ
    Xbox360-Variations
    PS3
    Wii
    XboxOne

    Portables:

    Gameboy
    Gameboy Colour
    Gameboy Advance
    PSP
    Nintendo DS

    Most used: Xbox360
    Least used: PS3
    Most nostalgic over: N64
    Most Expensive: GameQ
Biggest waste of money: Jap import PSP

I saved them all until a few years ago when I realised I didn't ever play most of them, the few I did go back to play were either a let down, uncomfortable because of the pads or looked/played horribly on modern tech. I thought I'd miss them and regret it but weeks later I couldn't of cared less.
  • My Dad used to get pirated games and videos from the lads at work. He used to say his mates got them while out on work in Saudi and "that's how they package them out there". Photocopied manuals n all.
