But he made some great films in his run and it’s a great innings. Don’t think many people get to live a life like that. Stand outs for me are the good Superman films, Lost Boys and The Goonies.
Plenty of good films on his imdb list, just having a look now. The Omen is a masterpiece imo, it's often referred to as top tier horror but I think it deserves consideration alongside the all-timers (any genre, says me). Superb film.
Don't mind a bit of Scrooged either, one of my favourite Murray's.
Omen is a genuine all timer. Donner had Gregory Peck and Lee Remick (and a brilliant Billie Whitelaw among a great support cast) which helps of course....but he has to take a lot of the credit for it.
It's a strange old body of work, most of which I don't really remember him for. Superman and the Lethal Weapons overshadowed everything else maybe. I couldn't have told you he did The Omen if my life depended on it.
Sebastian Eubank. Chris Eubank’s third child I think. Only just read that he died of a heart attack just before his 30th birthday. He had a pre-existing heart condition no one knew about. Fuck.
I'm absolutely gutted. She was a phenomenal writer and journalist. I never realised the extent of her health issues until I found her on Twitter, and also then discovered that she was also kind, humble and hillarious.
