I then noticed a week later he was showing signs of severe jaundice so rushed him to A&E. He was then diagnosed with multi-organ failure and was put on palliative care. He died two days ago relatively peacefully but with a lot of agitation and loss of speech towards the end due to toxin build-up from liver + kidney failure.
I've lived with my dad from roughly the age of 12 till now when I'm 33 so in some ways it feels like losing a partner as well as a parent.
Reading this forum was one of the ways I could distract myself while visiting him in hospital. Was a big help.

Had the honour of meeting her a few times - first when my girlfriend worked on one of her major exhibitions in Edinburgh, then over the years at Glasgow Print Studio, where she continued to make work right into her seventies. She was friendly, kind, generous with advice, and totally down to earth. https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2021/aug/25/dame-elizabeth-blackadder-obituary
