Batman comes a close 2nd in NMDs top 8bit soundtracks. Played it again last year alongside Bucky, still failed to beat joker at the end. Was retrying for fucking hours. One day.
Seriously great OST. If any of you retro heads don't have VNSF I recommend googling it.
Aye, Virtual Nintendo Sound File. NSF files are the nes bgm files, easy to find all titles online. You can set to loop for X times and save out as wav I think. Get nice 6 min versions of yer faves mate.
Also - found that Audio Overload is a Mac alternative.
@Moot - you got any good NSF recomms then? In my playlist atm:
Bad Dudes (for track 2 only tbh)
Mega Man
Silver Surfer (great soundtrack)
Duck Tales
Batman
SMB2 (best overworld theme)
Parodius Da!
Double Dragon
Mega Man 2
Bionic Commando (don't think I've actually listened to this)
TMNT (amazing title screen music)
I'm not the man for NES tunes Nick, got a few favourites (Moon theme from Ducktales springs to mind), but I was a full Segaboy until that particular avenue of pleasure was closed off. The Zophar's website I found had loads of MP3s for multiple consoles so I grabbed El Viento & Red Zone on MD, and Virtual On & Panzer/Zwei on Saturn.
Finished Spectre of Torment, everything done/collected apart from the tower. Best is just past 3/4 of the way up.
Really enjoyed it. More combat based than the previous two and the homing attack makes you look super-skilled, even when you are average.
I'd say it's probably the easiest of the three although there are tricky parts from time to time. Bosses are mostly very easy apart from a couple and the recurring final boss was very tough.
The hub world has quite a few things to do so that made up for the lack of world map exploration.
Remixed music is very good (pay what you want to get it from Bandcamp).
Like Plaguey, there are loads of relics or weapons which might get used once. I think Shovel had a more usable and required range of relics.
Overall, what a fantastic set of games Shovel Knight is. They all play completely differently and while Shovel and Plague have similar levels, Spectre has very different layouts.

Agreed, the one that gave you extra Will and the floating one were the only relics I used regularly. A couple of them work perfectly in the challenge mode though (what a shame there are only 5 non-boss challenges this time). Finished the main game anyway, excellent stuff.
