I'd say 90% of my Switch time has been handheld. The upgraded screen was almost revolutionary, such was the improvement.
Also, I can't be doing with the amount of issues the first machines came with. Joy con disconnection, docks scratching the screen etc.

I think that's what happened with the Switch but WiiU was already dead so Xmas sales weren't an issue.
Saw a ToTK advert yesterday. Small print of Game £49.99, Console £309.99. I know there are better deals than that but ooomph. An official price slash wouldn't go a miss this year. -
March 25. Released in Aug / September 25.
3D Mario and F-Zero launch games. New cross-gen Pokémon Legends games out that year. Animal Crossing within 6 months. Still no Silksong. -

At the moment I'm very much out of the Switch 2.0 experience.
Right until the cunts drop a BotW level trailer which gets me going and I'll be day one again -
I haven't had a Switch since mid covid so potential (likely) BC makes Switch 2 more tempting than it otherwise would be.
Then I remember the games will be silly money regardless of age and Im put off again. -

Me too. I'm 90% certain I've called it a day for new consoles, though I remain interested in things like a Steam Deck or Ayn Odin 2. New games are leaving me colder by the day.

It'll be the 3D Mario game that I'm frothing for.
For me Odyssey is the absolute best game on the system, I've 999 mooned it twice l, and it's a fantastic bit of creativity. -
I've run out of steam re platforming - 2D or 3D. Mario Galaxy was the last game that really grabbed me. Odyssey is superb but I just don't feel like going back to it. 3D world/land or whatever it's called is great too but I prefer it casual MP.
Meat Boy was the last 2D obsession and I can't see me going near anything else for a long time even though I have Wonder, the 2D game before that, and DK-TF which are all marvellous. But I can't stick at them.
My gaming this last year has been 2D shmups, Balatro and some Tetris Effect. Frankly I don't see it changing.
However - if there's an F-Zero I could be tempted.Holding the wrong end of the stick since 2009. -
Day one for me, if only to play no-faff indies at 60fps. If it does the Steam Deck thing without being a handheld PC it'll have what I need. The Switch is easily my most used console ever. I think the last launch day console I bought was a Gamecube or Xbox but I'm 100% gunning for a pre-order on this.
I like a lot of the Nintendo exclusives but it's not even about that for me now really - they're just a very welcome bonus.
