Sins of the Flesh V2.0: electric boogaloo (NSFW)

  • A seemingly popular theme that keeps popping up on my social media feeds these last couple weeks has been women bemoaning how hypocritical it is for men to both i) consume porn and ii) refuse to date sex workers. I've seen it labelled as misogynistic. Thoughts?

Because not all porn involves penetration (im sure most of us here have had no problem cracking one of to basically just a nice picture of someone, we dont need much to get us going) where as a sex workers job generally does.

In principle i think there should be an issue but ive seen how stupidly jealous men get (myself as a teen was a grade A wanker in one relationship)

  • I think it depends on what sex work they're doing. If you enjoy solo porn/glamour but wouldn't date a solo porn/glamour SW, yeah that leaves questions. If you enjoy solo porn but wouldn't be ok with dating an escort, understandable, it's a different threshold.

In general I think SW needs to be de-stigmatised, although everyone has the right to not be ok with their SO doing SW. If they hold that position, but still enjoy the produce of SW, then yeah, that's a bit... hmm.

Sex work does not = penetration.
  • I spaffed all my above reckons out off the cuff so am well prepared to be wrong btw (apart from the SW does not = penetration part)
  • Sex work is:

    Selling nudes
    Stripping
    Phone chat
    Glamour shots
    Escorting
    Porn
    And others probably

    RE suitability of images.

This is an NSFW thread, so a bit of T&A is fine. If you want real porn go and find some, I hear there's a small amount on the internet.

I'd like to think that the whole point of this thread was to flag up attractive things we've found out there, not the deepest darkest recess of your hidden porn folder.

So yeah, attractive ladies and gents, keep your alt.binaries.bestiality.donkey stuff in your private stash.

  • Happy to stand corrected on it lads. I was clearly looking too broadly.

  • I find it a bit ridiculous and can't see anything wrong with different types of people fulfilling different purposes in accordance with one's preferences and needs. Personally I really can't imagine a situation where I'd ever date a current or former sex worker tbh.
  • Maybe it was a bit blunt, but I don't mean it as dehumanising. The things I look for in friends, one-night stands or relationships all differ, and why shouldn't they.

That’s a pretty limited description of sex worker, though, Dave

I agree totally with your assessment, I was doing a shorthand. I included strippers and thought folks would assume I also meant lap dancers and OF folks.

    Big yikes tbh.

  • Same. I'm not having whatever kind of intimacy I can develop compromised by someone's sad weird job of any description.
  • I wouldn't shack up with an arms lobbyist either.

Yeah, I was taking an age to write my post in response to Dave, you got both yours in first and covered it well.

Ah, I thought you were using the Generic Dave, as in, refering to me as 'general bloke'. Soz.
  • Oh on a strict balance, it's much more benign to be a hooker than an arms dealer, don't get me wrong.

But, sex is special. I won't share.
  • I hooked up with a girl who did porn some years ago. We remain friends, and I make extra effort to see her whenever she visits Berlin, because she's great. def wouldn't date her though. I have plenty of other girl friends I wouldn't date either, for a variety of different reasons, all of which are equally valid.

That's not to say I have trouble with the ethics of SW. This is just my emotional response to it in a particular context, which is beyond my control. I don't care for whether other people share this view; I've no interest in convincing anyone, but nor do I feel any obligation to change my outlook.
  • I think my cut off is probably as low as it goes
  • No issue partnering with an ex-sex worker of any tier. We all have pasts.
  • 100% wouldn't date someone who had only fans. very hard to imagine dating someone who had only fans in the past either. I'm not a particularly jealous person and I'd like to keep it that way.

I mean there are so many women out there what's the point of training oneself to see a potential partner in all of them. SW seems a pretty reasonable place to start when narrowing the field.
  • Less chat more pics please. ;)
