He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG
I've been watching Starcraft 2 match vids (with commentary) to try get my brain re-familiarised with the game. Hopefully get motivated to try a game or two again soon.

From what I've played of the series, the best are in the middle: Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. Everything I've played of the stuff after that has been hugely disappointing.
I think part of the issue with RA3 is the bread and butter unit just doesn't exist, everything has about 8 functions and it's all about micromanaging each units abilities and I am too dumb for that. Bring back RA2 and 100 men + 50 dogs = win.
So is anyone going to take the plunge? The inclusion of unranked matchmaking should make it easier to get into things if multiplayer scares you.
After peaking in Platinum in Wings of Liberty I'm planning on playing Hots until I get to at least that level again, would be nice to have some company.
I'm a sucker for Blizzard collector's editions and, despite not having finished Wings of Liberty yet (thanks to someone who spoiled the ending for me about a week after launch), I'm getting the Heart of the Swarm CE tomorrow.
I'm shit at strategy games, but Blizzard is unparalleled at creating accessible games so I can play on easy and enjoy myself.
Heart Of The Swarm all pre installed. Now to wait for the server switch on, which is in like a hour or something. Havent played SC2 for a while so need to get my notebook out with all my shortcut guides written on it.
Except now after booting the game I get optimizing your files....wouldnt mind but its the second time today!

I generally only play RTS games for the singleplayer. Exception being Shogun 2 for the co-op campaign option and CoH: Tales of Valour's Stonewall mode. I enjoyed the original SC but the new one seems so intrinsically geared for multiplayer i'm a bit put off.
Am I right in thinking the epic 8gb update for Starcraft II is actually all the Heart of the Swarm content? So all I'll need to do with my CE later is register the key code rather than installing from the disc?
HOTS: Getting achievements disabled, then 10 seconds later achievements enabled messages popping ip. Havent earnt an achievement for the last 3 levels! I should stop playing and find out whats up but......naa il carry on. Game just drags you in and wont let go, the story is really good.

So some of the story while good, may cause a few questions. Looking it up I found that the bridge between WoL and HotS is a book called StarCraft : Flashpoint
Goes on to fill in the gaps and build the story for HotS, I mean im just over halfway through and im cool with the story, But I may pick the book up for loose ends.
Interesting thing is how the game streams data upon level loading. Some say its DRM, while others say its to limit the space on your hard drive. Either way it sucks when your connection is playing up and it takes an age to load a level. Streaming data even happens when you replay a level.
