Honestly, I don't think the indie scene and digital sales would be where they are if it wasn't for XBLA. Its publicity (and the success of some of its titles) has really paved the way for others to get their games out there.
He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG
XBLA is possibly the best thing about this generation.
Highlights for me include:
Rez HD
Shadow Complex
Plants Vs Zombies
Radiant Silvergun
Outrun 2
Guwange
Biggest let down: NiGHTS
I think the measure of its success for me peroally is that had the 360 had been a cheaper box that just delivered XBLA I'd have brought it for the content it's had alone.
favorite games have been:
mark of the ninja
castle crashers
teenage mutant ninja turtle 2 arcade
sensible soccer despite a few issues. I remember at launch it came out, then dissapeared then re appeared several hours later.
Uno
feeding frenzy
Chime
Pac man DX
Mad Tracks was fun at the time.
The jigsaw game was utter class.
Alien Homminid but it was nails.
splosion man
outrun
castlevania sotn
N+
Poker smash
So many more. In its hey day the XBLA line up destroyed Sony week on week. I remember buying every game every week. Sometimes getting lucky and getting 2 games in one day. I bought a lot of shit aswel like smash TV, minesweeper.
And umm yeah the Yaris game. WTF was that all about

Apologies in advance for the length of this post, but XBLA was the best thing about this round of consoles for me. If I had to choose between the following games, or all the retail games across the three main consoles this gen, I'd most definitely choose the XBLA library, even in the face of strong competition from the Galaxy games, amongst others.
My favourites, in three tiers:
Trials/Trials Evolution
Super Meat Boy
Portal: Still Alive
Braid
Fez
Bastion
Limbo
'Splosion Man/Ms. 'Splosion Man
Renegade Ops
Peggle
Stacking
Dust: An Elysian Tale
Sine Mora
Walking Dead
Pinball FX 2
The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile
Dorito's Crash Course
Ilomilo
Switchball
Yet to play but purchased and looking forward to:
Mark of the Ninja
Hard Corps Uprising
Cyber Troopers Virtual On Oratorio Tangram
Shadow Complex
Quarrel
Outland
Joe Danger 2: The Movie
Shank 2
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (haven't bought this one yet actually)
Best updates:
The Secret of Monkey Island 1&2
Guardian Heroes (apparently this is 160 points today, so please give this a go if you haven't already)
Most underrated/under appreciated title:
Scott Pilgrim vs the World (a blast in two player).
Worst game I paid full price for:
Trine 2.
Worst game I completed:
Comic Jumper
Biggest disappointments:
NiGHTS (why did they ruin a perfectly good update by zooming the view in by 20%? Insanity).
No Micro Machines 2.
Game I'd most like to not be crap at:
Bangai-O HD: Missile Fury. It tore me a new one, and the DC version is one of my all-time favourite games. One day, perhaps.
Re: choosing XBLA over the disc games, not something I would personally do. Obviously depends on what you want from your games and what kind you play etc, but having played Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite, Spec Ops The Line not long ago, and now playing Last of Us, I don't think I could say XBLA is better (for me). Not to mention the Mario and Zelda games on Wii...
ok, I need to turn my top 10 up to 11 by adding Geometry Wars 2, which I hadn't played in ages but which looks amazing on my new TV. still not very good at it though... I'd like to think that my inclusion of Trials Evo implicitly adds Trials too...
