Decent enough match, but there was never any danger Cody was going to lose, so it’s a bit of a shrug from me.
Wonder what they do with him going forward? Reigns to beat Lesnar tomorrow then feud with Cody would probably be the best use of Vince’s money.
God I'm fucked! Getting far too old for this all night malarky, so I can't say I'm enthused by the prospect of having to do it all again tonight.
Thought last night was pretty average really. Good presentation, but a lack of any matches you could really get invested in. Too many nothing matches, and too many obvious outcomes.
Tonight needs to do better, but I'm not convinced Vince has the card to do it. The main event is pretty much their only decent build I can think of, and Lesnar and Reigns have it in them them to pull off a belter, but the title unification aspect worries me, because with Raw and Smackdown on different networks in the U.S. there's just no way they can take the title belt from one of the shows without it's parent network going ballistic, so it worries me that the spectre of shenanigans has booked a ticket for tonight.
Do the networks really care if their show has a title to defend on it? Can't see it being an issue really, but if it is a unification bout than surely it has to be reigns going over because lesnar doesn't make that many raw shows as it is.
I think I know what dogfingers is getting at. Cornette was discussing this - basically owens has been building up for a match but nothing confirmed until the event. Begs the question why? Surprising people on the night is a bad angle - don't think it worked with the cena taker "match" a few manias back. The reveal that there would be a match should have been the go home raw. Given wwes form, I half expected a no match swerve.
